Stranger 5 of 100 - Graham
Made by dannymol
If ever there was any doubt to the validity of the all Scousers have a great sense of humour comment, then Graham here will remove all uncertainty. He's a scream. Graham is an instantly likeable cheeky-chappie, with a ready smile and quick-fire wit. As well as safely controlling the crowd at the game where I met him, Graham was charming passers by and keeping me and other soon-to-be spectators of the match entertained. Professional yet friendly - just how a crowd steward should be. I asked Graham if he would let me snap him for my 100 strangers project. I think Graham was a little flattered. What me? On the Internet? Oh go on then. Graham says he is unliekly to ever see this photograph as he doesn't often go online but his son does from time to time. I suggested to Graham that his son should check out the to see the image I captured. I hope Graham does get to see himself on the Internet. I also think that the whole world should get to meet Graham and then we'd all smile a little more.

The Shankly Gates. The Shankly Gates were officially opened on August 26 1982 to pay tribute to former manager Bill Shankly, the man who turned Liverpool Football Club from a struggling Division 2 side into arguably the greatest team in English history. Shankly's widow, Nessie formally unlocked the Gates in a quiet ceremony with the late John W. Smith, Graeme Souness and Bob Paisley. Across the Gates in gold lettering are the words 'You'll Never Walk Alone', the Gerry and the Pacemakers' hit that Liverpool fans have adopted as the Club's anthem. Anfield, Liverpool, Merseyside. 20 July 2008.

Liverpool Tiltshift (eight of fifty two)
Made by Reckless Times
Went to Anfield for the1st time in ages, always enjoyable and a win too (albeit only just!) so that was a bonus. Took Petra to her 1st game to see her countrymen play... ...all in all a good day. (well it was for me!) I only took one shot during the game because I didnt want to be the fan taking photos all game with a dirty great camera! I took it witht he plan of trying to dy my 1st proper tiltshift using an SLR - any other tiltshift on my stream are done using the Iphone. When I look at this it reminds me, i really must get some new glasses. This is how the game actually looked for me!

Justice for the 96 - RIP
Made by Thirteensteps13
As MacKenzie's layout was seen by more and more people, a collective shudder ran through the office (but) MacKenzie's dominance was so total there was nobody left in the organisation who could rein him in except Murdoch. (Everyone in the office) seemed paralysed - looking like rabbits in the headlights - as one hack described them. The error staring them in the face was too glaring. It obviously wasn't a silly mistake; nor was it a simple oversight. Nobody really had any comment on it—they just took one look and went away shaking their heads in wonder at the enormity of it. #dontbuythesun

Liverpool 4 v 2 Arsenal, Champions Leage Quarter Final 2nd Leg, Anfield
Made by Torl Porl
I dunno whose flag this is but I love it. I always try to get a nice pic of it but this is the best I've managed so far- the guy swings it about rapidly! What a night! A fine header from Hyppia to equalise from Diaby's opener. Then a frankly awesome goal from Torres to make it 2-1 to the Reds before Adebayor clinched what appeared to be enough to put Arsenal through with only 6 minutes left. From the kick off Babel ran into the Arsenal box at the Kop end and was brought down for a penalty which Stevie calmly despached. Babel was rewarded with a late 4th. 5-3 on aggregate. Bring on Chelsea!

Huyton boys heading in different directions
Made by jazzebbess
Liverpool`s number 8 Steven Gerrard and Newcastle United`s number 7 Joey Barton treading the Anfield turf. Both Huyton boys from the city of Liverpool. Gerrard strides towards the corner flag to check on his injured team mate and take the free kick. Barton is sent off for a reckless challenge and heads for a bust up with his manager. Joey faced vilification in the press after this latest incident. Steven was today awarded the Footballer of the Year award by the Football Writer`s Association. Flagpole Corner
Made by jazzebbess
The giant flagpole is one of the masts from the famous mammouth ship the Great Eastern. She has stood in the corner of the Kop since 1906. The ship ended up being broken up at the docks in Rock Ferry. LFC decided they wanted the mast at Anfield. It had to be floated across the Mersey. A wagon with three horses had to haul it up to Anfield. They went via Everton Brow which is an extremely steep hill. The flag flys at half-mast in the corner of Anfield`s Spion Kop. 30,000 people attended a memorial service to mark the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

Superlambanana - SuperFanBanana
Made by nataliej
Liverpool is the European Capital of Culture for 2008 and as part of the celebrations, 125 Superlambananas have been installed around the city. You can find out more about them here and here. The original Superlambanana was created by Taro Chiezo and is currently to be found near the Albert Dock. On my brief visit to Liverpool this weekend, I managed to snap these two. This one is at Anfield, home to the best football team in the country :D

Liverpool 3 - 1 PSV Eindhoven, Game 2, Champions League
Made by Torl Porl
The Kop in full voice after an impressive win. We won 3-1 and it was a match full of landmark events. Firstly we scored out 100th goal in the Champions League under Rafa, Keane got his 1st goal for us and Stevie got his 100th. Kuyt scored yet another goal in Europe (and he's just got one, finally, in the league- clinching a well fought for win at Man City, in which Torres scored 2- the first of which was Liverpool's 1000th Premier League goal.

Last Day of The Kop (4)
Made by jazzebbess
The Spion Kop name found its origins during the Boer War. It took its name from a battle that took place in South Africa. The Lancashshire Fusiliers were engaged in combat at Spioeonkop Hill, Ladysmith. Heavy losses were endured, many of them scousers. The then editor of the Liverpool Echo, Ernest Edwards suggested that the new terracing was reminescent of Spioenkop Hill. It proved a popular suggestion.

Anfield - Charity Match
Made by James_Farley
As part of my employers working relationship with Liverpool Football Club, we were lucky enough to be given the use of Anfield for the day to put on a charity event for colleagues to play at the ground, and in the process raise money for the Marina Dalglish Appeal. This is one of several of the home team dressing room, quite taken aback by how basic it is, but serves its purpose.

Receiving treatment
Made by jazzebbess
An anxious Kop look on as Liverpool`s Xabi Alonso receives medical treatment. In the 77th minute Alonso was the victim of a high two footed lunge. Newcastle`s Joey Barton received a red card and Alonso was stretchered off. How many people have been red carded this season in their attempts to stop the influential player? You`ll never walk alone The L.F.C. anthem taken from the Rogers & Hammerstein musical Carousel. Back in the sixties the top ten in the hit parade was played before the match. The Kop used to singalong to these tunes. Gerry & The Pacemakers hit the No.1 spot for several weeks with their rendition of You`ll never walk alone which the Kop adopted as their own.

Dutch Police - British Police
Made by jazzebbess
A British policeman demonstrates the art of stealth soccer surveilance of suspects to his Dutch counterpart. Act as though you are uninteresed in your suspect (me)......close both eyes....then slowy half open one eye (the one furthest from said suspect works best)....lean on stick....you can remain undetected for hours.

Fernando Torres. Super hero. El Niño
Made by Mat Jam
The main man. Fernando Torres. This is the back of him, which is also the view most defenders have! Scored his first Anfield hat-trick against Middlesbrough on 23rd Feb 2008 and Emily and I had the privilege of being able to see it first hand. --------- IF YOU USE THIS PHOTO YOU MUST ISSUE AN ATTRIBUTION/CREDIT
