Kissing School Buses

Kissing School Buses

Two school buses in the DC Public Schools bus depot. Kendall St & New York Ave NE, Washington, DC. I was biking past NY Ave and thought this group of yellow buses might make for a fun shot, so I turned into Kendall St to take a few pix. A guard behind the fence on the other side of the street started asking what I was doing, and then proceeded to tell me I couldn't take photos of public property. This idiot even came out onto the street to menace me. I've been questioned about taking photos at the White House, the Capitol, the Department of Justice... but never has anyone suggested that it's not allowed to take photos of public property. Obviously the DCPS system has hired complete morons to patrol their bus lots. This officer's rebuttal to my assurance that it was OK to stand on a public street and take photos was Are you questioning my integrity? Duh, you asshole; I'm questioning your intelligence. Anyways, I like this shot. If anyone can figure out how it poses a threat to national security please let me know and I'll be sure to remove it.

Such a handsome little boy. The crazy thing was, two different shelter visitors said he's not what they're looking for because he's too small. I was very happy for the bigger cats waiting for homes, but how can anyone think that sweet orange face is too anything?

Sometimes when I get bored in traffic as I try to get myself home from work, I haul out the point and shoot. This is New York Avenue, the bane of my existence. Camera sitting on the steering wheel - slow shutter speed.

I wasn't allowed to watch 90210 when I was in elementary school, but fell in love with it during my high school years. I guess Hollywood has run out of ideas.
