September 23, 2007. An urban canyon near Wall St, in Manhattan. Canon Digital Rebel XT with an EF-S 10-22mm lens at 10mm. TODO: Rent a Hasselblad and retake this shot with a 40mm lens (equivalent to 13mm on an APS-C DSLR, so I'll have to take a few steps back, as this was shot at 10mm), maybe with a red filter. I like the lines, obviously, but I'd prefer it in black & white -- color is superfluous here -- & I don't like the chromatic aberration, & I'd prefer the resolution of a 6x6cm negative over an 8MP digital sensor. I'm also disturbed by the blown-out highlights on the upper left; I think I should take this around dawn to get more even lighting. South is to the right and East is in front; if I plant my tripod in the middle of the street before sunrise, and take the photo before the cops make me move, I might get a satisfying photo. I should go as low as possible. Jesse Davis photography
