This preposterous structure still stands as a monument to Nazi megalomania. It was built in a vain attempt to protect Vienna from allied aerial attacks - the round platforms supported anti-aircraft guns. It has been crumbling due to natural causes for decades and the city now invests to secure the structure. There is a second tower in the Augarten and several more around the city. The towers also served as bombshelters.

One of the two anti-aircraft towers (Flaktürme) in the in Vienna, built during WW2, and still there to this day. Three sets of two are distributed around the city.
