Peregrine over downtown Toronto

I was on University between King and Queen at the end of my walk. I was making the move to get on the subway when I looked up and saw what was obviously a raptor overhead. I initially thought Red Tailed Hawk because of the size and because the bird was gliding. But, a moment later I knew that it wasn't. The wings were way too pointed for a RTH and the tail was wrong. That meant one thing: Falcon. Except that I had never seen a falcon glide like this. I watched it for five minutes soar over University and it didn't flap a wing. If it was a falcon and it was this size, it meant one thing: Peregrine. My first Toronto peregrine!

Single (unedited) exposure at the Hilton Hotel Toronto. Title is from Zbigniew Preisner's Silence, Night and Dreams. I think the music really suits this. note: It seems that a lot of people are somehow seeing a human head in there... it's definitely not a reflection of the photographer, or anyone else in the room. It's actually the camera itself, mounted on a tripod, and the cable release. Explored on 21 Sept 2008.
