It used to be that you weren't allowed to smoke on certain busy streets in Tokyo, but I noticed last time I was here (2006/1) that the ban seems to have gone into effect citywide. There are these smoking kiosks set up everywhere. Some of the anti-smoking messages on them are rather amusing.
