Obelisk of Hatshepsut

This obelisk in the inner temple of Karnak is the tallest in Egypt - standing almost 30 m high. It was one of two obelisks raised by Hatshepsut to the glory of her father the god Amun. The tip of the obelisk was orignally covered in electrum (an alloy of silver and gold).
