Katarinahissen in Swedish. It carries pedestrians between the heights of Sodermalm and the Slussen (lock) area in the center of Stockholm. The height is 38 m (125 ft). The elevator was built in 1881, and rebuilt in 1935. It now has a well-known restaurant below, Eriks Gondolen, and a cafe at the level of the upper station. The restaurant was built in the 1940s. I have considered Katarinahissen as the best view in Stockholm. Perhaps the City Hall tower is better, but I did not even know of it until recently. This photo is geotagged.

The Katarina Elevator (Swedish: Katarinahissen) is a passenger elevator in Stockholm that connects Slussen (the lock area) to the heights of Södermalm. The original elevator was constructed in 1881, but the current structure dates from the rebuilding of the Slussen transport interchange in 1935. One can get a beautiful view of the Old Town (Gamla Stan) from the top platform. Shot this by placing my camera on the platform itself and holding the strap (and praying at the same time)! My set.
