Canon 18-55 18mm 1/250 f10 ISO 100 A response to an inquiry by flickrmail: I just checked. I did not do any sharpening here. Just an automatic contrast enhancement which spreads out the histogram fully and made this photo a bit brighter. I find the biggest challenge is to get the focusing exactly right. At least with my 350D autofocus is not that reliable. If you have the chance try to bracket the focus and then select the best focused one. And even if the autofocus works within specs it is not that good. Most Canon Cameras except for the 300D and 350D have a high precision autofocus mode if you use a f2.8 or better lens and the central sensor. I do add sharpening to a lot of the photos I upload to flickr and rework the light in even more of them. A few months ago I set my camera to do maximal sharpening. This is still not very much sharpening. Often I add more in post processing.

Pavlovsk (Russian: Павловск) is a Russian town situated in 30 km from and under jurisdiction of Saint Petersburg, just to the south of Carskoje Selo. It is located at 59°41′N, 30°27′E, with a population of 14 960 (2002 census). The town developed around the Pavlovsk Palace, one of the most splendid residences of the Russian imperial family. It is part of the World Heritage Site Saint Petersburg and Related Groups of Monuments.
