Prague (Czech: Praha (IPA: [ˈpraɦa]), see also other names) is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Situated on the Vltava river in central Bohemia, Prague has been the political, cultural and economical center of the Czech state for over 1000 years. The city proper is home to nearly 1.2 million people, while its metropolitan area is estimated to have population of over 1.9 million[1]. Prague is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe[2] and belongs to the most visited cites on the continent[3]. Since 1992, the historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Nicknames for Prague have included the mother of cities (Praga mater urbium), city of a hundred spires and the golden city[4]. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prague

One of four Art Nouveau sculptures on the pylons of the Most Svatopluka Čecha (Svatopluk Čech Bridge) in Praha, Česká Republika. The bridge, also known as the Čechův most (Čech Bridge), is an arch bridge with stone pylons that stretches across the Vltava (Moldau) River. The bridge was designed by the architects Jan Koula and Jiří Soukup and completed in 1908. The bridge is the only Art Nouveau style bridge in the Czech Republic. Processed in Adobe Photoshop CS2. Straka Academy and Prague Castle from Čech Bridge, Prague, Czech Republic I was just passing by today. Although it was already too dark, I thought I hadn't taken some night picture for a pretty long time. Fortunately I had my camera with me and the bridge railing was wide enough to serve as my tripod :-).
